Body Image & Self-Esteem
Therapy for individuals struggling with their relationship with their body and themselves. This may include difficulty accepting your body as it is, frequent negative self-talk, low self-esteem, or feeling disconnected from your sense of confidence and self-worth.
Areas of Focus
Body Image & Self-Perception
Many people struggle with how they see and experience their bodies. Messages from society, social media, relationships, and past experiences can shape a critical or disconnected view of ourselves. Together, we will explore these influences, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and work toward developing a more compassionate and accepting relationship with your body.
Health at Every Size (HAES) Perspective
We take a Health at Every Size (HAES)-aligned approach, recognizing that health is not determined by body size or weight. Instead, we focus on overall well-being—physical, emotional, and mental—while honoring body diversity and supporting a more inclusive and compassionate view of health.
Weight Stigma & Societal Influences
Weight stigma and societal expectations can have a powerful impact on how we view ourselves and others. We will examine how these messages have affected your self-image and begin to separate your worth from appearance, helping you build a more grounded and self-defined sense of identity.
Self-Compassion & Self-Care
Our work will include building practical, sustainable ways to care for yourself with kindness rather than criticism. We will focus on developing self-compassion, strengthening self-trust, and creating routines that support your well-being and help you feel more connected to yourself.
Treatment Approach
At Wildflower Mental Health, we take a holistic and nonjudgmental approach to body image and self-esteem. We explore the many factors that shape your self-perception, including personal beliefs, relationships, cultural influences, and lived experiences.
We prioritize creating a safe, supportive environment where you can show up authentically and begin to shift the way you relate to yourself. Treatment may incorporate a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), depending on your individual needs.
Our goal is to help you develop a more compassionate, confident, and connected relationship with yourself—one that feels sustainable and aligned with who you are.
