Identity & Life Transitions
Therapy for individuals navigating periods of change, uncertainty, or a shift in how they see themselves. You may be moving through a new phase of life, career changes, relationship transitions, changes in identity, or simply realizing that the life you’ve built no longer feels aligned. Even when these changes are positive or expected, they can bring up confusion, self-doubt, and a sense of feeling ungrounded.
Areas of Focus
Navigating Life Transitions
Life transitions, whether chosen or unexpected, can disrupt your sense of stability and direction. You may feel uncertain about what’s next or question decisions you’ve made. Together, we will process these changes, helping you move through them with greater clarity, intention, and self-trust.
Perfectionism & Fear of Change
Change often brings up fear - fear of making the wrong decision, disappointing others, or losing a sense of control. Perfectionistic tendencies can make it even harder to move forward, leading to overthinking or feeling stuck. In therapy, we will gently challenge these patterns and support you in making decisions with more confidence and flexibility.
Identity Exploration & Self-Discovery
Many high-achieving women have spent years meeting expectations, both their own and others’, which can make it difficult to know who they are outside of those roles. We will explore your values, needs, and desires to help you reconnect with your sense of identity and build a life that feels more authentic and aligned.
Letting Go & Redefining Success
Transitions often require letting go of expectations, identities, or versions of yourself that no longer fit. This process can feel both freeing and uncomfortable. We will work together to redefine what success and fulfillment look like for you, creating space for a life that feels more meaningful and sustainable.
Treatment Approach
At Wildflower Mental Health, we take a holistic and nonjudgmental approach to life transitions and identity shifts. We explore the many factors that shape your experience, including personal history, relationships, societal expectations, and internal beliefs.
We prioritize creating a space where you can slow down, reflect, and reconnect with yourself during times of change. Treatment may incorporate a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and values-based work, depending on your individual needs.
Our goal is to help you feel more grounded, clear, and confident as you navigate change, so you can move forward in a way that feels aligned with who you are, not just who you feel expected to be.
